Scherzo - symphony no. 2

Description
After re-recording the 2nd and 4th movement of my second symphony, I also had to redo the 3rd movement: Scherzo, Allegro e Agitato. The difference in sound would be too big after switching to the ew vst library. So here it is: Scherzo.

Sounding good
A very solid piece of composition. The woodwind are nicely restrained and considering it's a virtual orchestra it's a remarkable sound.

Cheers

passage
I do hear brazen bold parts & irony - it being a scherzo - I hear this playful frolicking as well.
Dynamic range seems really appropriately regulated and variated. 3/5 of the way through - one is almost not prepared for the crash and descending major passage. It keeps the length scarcely noticeable. nice work.

thanks!
Thanks all for the nice comments and for listening to this piece. I am very happy with the result, it took me a while to get it right, though. I had a couple of different versions before it was the way it is now. THe length was double in time, I took out a lot of repeats. ANd yes, being a virtual orchestra, this library, the Sonivox complete Orchestral, sounds really nice.

Quite interesting
I didn't expect the turn at 2:25 and then at 2:38, with the very delicate phrasing and harp work... the unhurried silence at 2:58. There is a lot of very pleasing variety in this piece, in the dynamics, the phrasing, and the overall tempo. Only a couple of spots (e.g. 3:23 from the end) where the sound seems to clip-off at a point where I might have expected a half-second fade.

I'd definitely like to know more about the tools and techniques you're using to construct this composition, over-and-above the VST library.

hi Mike
What is it that you want to know? The composition techniques itself on how I wrote it or about how I recorded it in Logic?
