Rambling through the valley
Your upper range has a Neil Young feel, your lower range a Steven Stills feel. I loved those guys. There is an east groove feel to this, some good ideas, although, in my ears, the rambling nature of and occasional rhythmic imprecision makes it more like a recording of a draft jam done while you are searching for the right direction. I dig the anthem feel of the repeated groove in the end. Kind of long, tho. Consider editing this down, adding a bridge or something to switch things up a bit. There is potential here.

Fab photo!

thanks!
Thanks Tobin, Neil Young and Steven Stills & Crosby and Nash of course, band have always been huge influences in my music. I didn't even realize I was showcasing that with this one, guess that's because they are embedded in my head & heart.
Yes, I do agree fully, this is a tad too long. But then again, I was simply lost in the moment.

Groovin'
I agree with Tobin, can definitely feel the CSN&Y vibe in this. Kind of has a feel of being recorded live at Woodstock. Love the crunchy guitar. Set nicely back in the mix, not too out in front. Very nice. I know different people feel differently about the length of a song, but my philosophy is let a tune take as long as it needs to take. Take this from someone who once posted a 20 minute tune...

Neil Young and CSN are one of my big influences too, so I really do dig the tune. Like you, I just do this for the fun of it. I'm digging the stuff of yours I've listened to so far. If ever want to collab some time, drop me a note.

cool!
Thanks for stopping by, for 8.5 minutes! I ran through a couple of your tunes and like your style as well. I suppose we'll have to do a 30 minute jam then! I don't always have the time I would like to, to create, but if you're willing, so am I.

I make music for music sake. I'm not looking for fame or fortune, just having fun getting it out there. The way I work is basically all improvisational. I use Apple's Garage Band software to record and compose. A simple drum/metronome track is create... [see more]
