Description
sorry for the flubs I couldn't clean up the rattly mic. stupid mic!

a guitar song from 1997 redone for 2012. I never liked this song.

got tired of trying to fix this version so here it is. spent 6 hours on it. like I was doing last year.

no wonder punk rock came along!

Lyrics
little girl well I want to take you out
yes I do sweet baby there really ain't no doubt
little girl I want to find out
yes I do sweet baby what you're on now

I just can't wait to get you downtown
I just can't wait to find out what I've found

and little girl well I barely know your name
yes it's true sweet baby but I love you just the same
and little girl really ain't no shame
and I know sweet baby when I came to taste your tang

I just can't wait to get you downtown
I just can't wait to show off what I've found
cuz you sure ain't just another face in the crowd
I think you're great I'm gonna sing it long and loud
you make me proud

and we'll go cruising with the top down
and we'll go cruising with the top down - yeah

I love the frantic tempo, slap you in the face drum sound, and quirky synths. There's a cool Jim Morrison vibe in the vocal melody and performance. Like if Morrison had survived and joined DEVO. One of your best produced and mixed.

frankly this pretty damned good! i'm sold on that chord progression. i don't even think i've heard this style from you. really like this song, but it could have been a tad shorter, tho.

thank you
I like the progression too just not the song for whatever reason. I agree 4 1/2 mins is too long. I wrote loooong songs in 1997. some ended up well over 5 minutes. too much, too much.

OK Dimm...
Now, after all that...sounds like fun here to me...melody line glides through some real smoothe color changes, I like the inz n outz of the chord structure...you got power vocals man..bring 'em up front more, you can drive

I love
my yamaha acoustic. I added a garageband wah effect to another track for spice. but the song itself is supposed to be the straight acoustic track. yes I tried hard to overwring. is that the verb form that becomes overwrought? lol thanks

I thought for several days to redo the synths because I thought the hook sounded cheesy. but decided not to revisit. almost deleted entirely and just left guitar. way overthought this one. that is the past tense of overthink right? lol

my
mic was considered a playtoy by my kids growing up and they wrecked some cords but shure 58 keeps on plugging -- BUT sometimes the little guts are loose and I have to unscrew the screen and jam em back in -- I forgot to do that this time and went handheld = mistake. still haven't brought my mic stand into redone studio bad boy! thanks though freddy ;)

Nice work! Has a 80's feel for me, I like the quirky synth fills. I like the production on this, everything is standing out. Lighthearted rock vibe fits the lyric well.

Intriguing
This is a bit of a change of course, Eddie. I agree with Andrew re the Jim Morrison vibe on the vocals. Intriguing chord progression give the song a hybrid type of feel - hard to categorize - grunge/pop? Thanks for the post. Regards, Peter.
