Description
I've had this piece in this format for at least 6 - 8 months. I never posted it as I felt it didn't fit my current oeuvre. Listening to it today i think it is highly representative of a sound I used to try and achieve (such as on my song "I'd Like To Know What Makes You Tick"). So I figured i may as well post it and see if anyone likes it. It's inspired by the amazing 1930's documentary film of the same name, which looks at the harsh and tough lives of the Aran islanders. These hardy people, situated on the far west of Europe on islands off the Irish coast, hunted basking sharks from coracle type boats, right up to the 1950's. The music is an attempt to mirror the large forbidding seas they braved to make their catch.

Lyrics
You gotta ride the storm
Chase the Sun, chase the Sun down
Race the wind
Chase the Sun
You gotta call the boats ashore
Chase the Sun, chase the Sun down
Race the wind
Chase the Sun
Chase the Sun, chase the Sun down
Race the wind
Chase the Sun
You gotta call the boats ashore
Chase the Sun, chase the Sun down
Race the wind
Chase the Sun

Full backing that does suggest struggle and facing great odds, and has a majestic feel. The echoey vocal adds to the mood. Nice guitar playing - those long notes in the middle work well. Boomy drums are effective. All in all, an excellent production. I enjoyed listening!
