Alan Fienne and Soy Sauce Jonny

 Genre: Pop (mainstream)

This is sort of a poke at how stupid and over the top crime T.V. shows can be. It’s a story of a guy deciding what person he’s going to follow. The names were inspired by a Beatle and his infamous manager.

Words and Music by Mark Westerfield

Mark W. – keys, bass, gtr, and vocals
Steve Villarreal – drums
Joe Scott – lead gtr

Jon had a loving woman
Who planned to get him out
He was the true one
She knew without a doubt

But Fienne had work for Jon
Controlling his head
Too fat for his suit
Sternly he said
She’s got to roll….she’s got to roll

Always something everywhere
With these type of careers
John got so confused
Hearing it in both ears

And Fienne with his plans
To keep him in place
Grabbed Jon by the shirt
And said down his face
That’s how I roll….that’s how I roll

Such a tender balance
When things come to a head
In this dumb T.V. show
Someone always ends up dead

So Fienne got what he got
That seedy pig head
Jon withdrew his gun
And has he ran he said
That’s how it goes….that’s how it goes

Excellent musicianship
I'm getting a sense of deja vu here? I assume this is a re-post. I can't compare it with the first post but I still like the Steely Dan vibe (sic) and the musicianship is excellent. This is a quality post and I enjoyed listening for a second time. Thanks. Regards, Peter.

Cool song.

Interesting treatment of the vocals. The difference between the vox and the very hi-fi drum and piano is a tad large. I would definitely have done something with the piano to make the mix gel better.

Cool song
Thx for commenting. I spent way too much time on the mix, so I'm finished messing with it...lol. The vocals had no effects on it. Just recorded dry and double tracked.
