Description
We recently moved into a studio space that we share with another band and can leave our gear set up and have more freedom to rehearse. I no longer get to play through boutique tube amps I could never afford - but the trade off in having our own home is well worth it.
This recording was made with the usual Zoom H2 simple approach and the jam was a spontaneous combustion about an hour into the night. John set his bass tone to create a two guitar approach with a crunchy distorted high end while still maintaining some bottom. I'm playing my Godin Session strat through a Peavey Bandit 65 and Steve now has two kick drums and a wider array of cymbals to play with. He does not use a double beater cheater on the kicks. We're still finding the sound of the room - but I'm pretty happy with this cut that got a little EQ and verb tweaking in GB. It takes a little while to coalesce - no edit or fade in - it's a process.

Picture is from a recent gig at Goodbye Blue Monday.

power trio
noisy but some sweet harmonies created by the bass / guit interplay.
Peavy Bandit 65 is a nice loud amp... I sold mine a while back and this makes me miss it...
Anyway this is a nice heavy jam & I like it!
