Description
Here's a new trance track I made. Been a while, so I guess I had some ideas that had been "maturing" :)

If you have any issues with the production or mastering, please do say!!

I like it.
Has a nice, lighthearted feeling of soaring. Thanks.

kick
Thanks char! I'm wondering if the kick is a little too high... the volume is automated to keep it from being masked in the master limiter, but perhaps it needs to just come down a little. It should be clean and transparent, not thuddy...

Ash you do Trance really well. This is very good, great melodies, great synth stabs, great sweeps, really good breaks and build ups. I particularly like the glides in this. As for the kick, sounds fine to me. Maybe even beef it up some more. Maybe get a bit of verby vox in there somewhere too, lengthen the breaks - turn it into an anthem.

One crit maybe; some eq-ing on the mid-range synth voices. Try to isolate them in the full blown sections? I don't know the technical terms btw, sorry! Anyway, a proper Trance sound! Love it.

cheers
thanks for the feedback, and I think I know what you're getting at - I shall hook up a multiband compressor on the high synths sidechained off the low mids. Should make some room for those synths to punch through.

Seems like
You have a handle on this style. I love the build and the production is tops. I have to say that with this sound it seems that it can go so much further but for everone that masters this there is no one that explorers different synth sounds or percussive sounds. For instance at the 3:00 minute mark there is gold oozing from the speakers but its like listening to the same band play a better song. One day I hope someone will take this beyond where it seems to have stopped. That said...love it. Oh and rock rap and every other style has a simular wall.

thanks
for the nice comment - I do agree in what you're saying about the style. Perhaps that most of us use the same plugins, take influence from each other, and also that trance is a genre than when mixing tracks, it should be difficult to have a set change point - they should all blend smoothly from one to the next.

Wait for something better.
Unfortunately Armada would have picked this up in 2004. That is to say that it's really good, really well mastered, and extremely original. I was very impressed at 2:45. I haven't gotten goosebumps from a riff and chord progression in a trance song like this in ages. I would tune down the reverb on the saw arpeggios, shorten the kick sample, tune it up slightly, raise the low-mids just slightly, funk up the bass a bit, and ditch the 2003 percs and hi's. Go for some variation in how you use the percussion so that the track has some punctuation to it. As much as monotony in percussion is a somewhat signature of trance as it's been known in the past 10 years, percussion has really matured in the past 3 years. Go for some new ideas, don't be scared to play with break or dub fills if you feel like they might work. Other than that, I think the melodic potential of this track is ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE.

Seriously man, you have got some wicked chops in the conceptual department. With a bit of work, I would gladly pass this on to a buddy of mine who's done a few dozen releases with Infraprogressive and recently got airplay on Group Therapy Radio. Seriously, bro, you had me completely at 2:45.

Crisp and clear
You've nailed all of the elements in this classic trance track as Mr. Jones has already said. Sidechain city!
