Soul groove
There's a lot of good stuff here and a couple of sounds I dig less. The brass stabs at 0:40 are really out of character for the sound as you've established it until then. The trumpet solo is cool, but can be integrated better in the mix. Not quite sure what I'm looking for, but it lies a bit much on top of it.

That said, I'm sitting here grooving while typing. Nice pieces. Your "pom-pe-pom" vocal are really great.

Hi Vic, I always appreciate your comments and critiques! I was struggling a bit with the brass section in this one. Its actually 4 layered Wivi Band tracks and is a little staccato for my liking too but I didn't really get them tweaked to where I like them (2 trumpes, one tenor and one trombone). This time for the solos, I played them on the EWI wind instrument and tried to stay within my talent level! I've attempted fast modal jazz pieces in the past with mixed results - more my talent level than anything else. I think for mixing though, I have to break down and get some decent monitors! Til then its a crapshoot. Again, thank you so much for the helpful comment. I did resort to vocal samples, my voice is best heard via "closed captioning", but I did do quite a bit of slicing/dicing to get the syncopation I wanted. Glad it worked out for you!
