I have been researching a lot lately, about the world, politics, commerce, big business, polititions, elected reprisentatives, governments, propaganda, lying, deceipt, erosion of civil rights, changing of history, manipulation, bullying, unreachable goals, lack of truth, lack of accountability, corporate purchase of the government. About China, Iran, USA, Korea, Venezuela, League of Nations, UN, the British Government, chaos, New World Order, in no particular order, just following the rabbit holes wherever they go. (They usually meet somewhere, sooner or later). I think that I have woken up now, from the dream that I thought for long enough was reality.
What to do? That is the question.

This mix sums some things up, to my way of thinking about all this. I was going to do some sort of recording of water going noisily down a drain, but didn't. I turned the tap off instead.

Cave of terrors
When a piece is as effectively put together as this one is the listener cannot help do a mind meld of sorts with the composer. The sense of space and colour is classic Rheinholt but the rising tones here and there are new - to my listening experience anyway. There are long held tones here too that are almost like mechanical background noises - the gears of the tendencies of society to put self interest way ahead of the common good?

I remember that one of my teachers told us that in revolutions the very shrewd get on side with the change agents which, with a little manipulation, then puts them in power and the whole scene that called for the revolution starts again under new but essentially unchanged leadership. As discouraging as it is, there remain individuals who sometimes at least are doing the right thing. Let's hope they never give up trying.

Thanks for the download Paul.

Be well,

You could drive yourself crazy
or get seriously depressed looking into all those things: and the more you learn the more you realize that there are no easy solutions. So, you did the right thing (for your own sanity) by turning off the tap, and putting your feelings into your music. As Harald says, it is quite dark, but it seems to have some rays of light within it: smidges of optimism rather than total pessimism. Nice.

My revolution days are far behind me, North Korea seems intent on starting a new war tho, that will have to do for now I guess, the over all feeling I got from this is that armageddon has surrounded the earth in a layer of dust...Intense sound scape for sure..

Ah revolution!
Can't wait to hear the followup. This appears to be the prelude.
What's the plan? The synth here is haunting and tasty good, maybe not revolutionary...
