Description
I was just getting into minimalism when I wrote this one... :)
This song is very personal to me.
It's mostly about this particular funk that tends to come over me occasionally.
I can't really explain it but I guess that's why I wrote a song about it, right?

Lyrics
The infinite unknown
The universe unfolding
Swallowing me whole
The vastness ineffable
My dreams all seem so small
Everything so shallow
My watercolor heart
Is fading into black

It pulls at my soul
Give me more than this
I feel it's call
I cannot comprehend

I long without a goal
I cannot satisfy
The unknown visitor
That occupies my soul
Its demands are too strong
My values won't allow them
Things I'd never do
I do them in my sleep

It pulls at my soul
Give me more than this
I feel it's call
I cannot comprehend

Run through my veins again
(Reach inside and make me bleed)
Reach in and tear out my soul
(Give me all the pain I need)
Run through my veins again
(Reach inside and make me bleed)
Reach in and tear out my soul
(Give me all the pain I need)

The infinite unknown
The universe unfolding
Swallowing me whole
The vastness ineffable
My dreams all seem so small
Everything so shallow
My watercolor heart
Is fading into black

There's a lovely lightness to the arrangement and I'm just a sucker for a reverb-y harp. the only instrument that breaks the illusion is that sharp synth guitar line. but then maybe that's the effect you intended. nice tune and top notch vocals, regardless.

Nice, gentle, flowing arrangement, Lela. The repeated piano motif gives the song coherence and your vocals float nicely over the top. I enjoyed stopping by. Thanks, Peter.

Nice opening. I like the vocals - light and airy but with warmth and emotion in them. Clean recording and interesting mix. Much enjoyed!
