Description
I was out for an early evening walk the other day and a number of images left their mark on me. It is heading quickly towards winter in this part of the world and I came over all reflective...
Philip18 is away overseas for several weeks so I am baby-sitting his Gibson Howard Roberts :-) It gets a run in the solo.
The acoustic is my self-made 000. Boldt Panflute seemed to fit as well.
The song probably has a touch of a "Show Tune" feel about it but there was no way I was going to post it as that ;-)
See what you think.
All comments and constructive criticism welcome.
Take care,
Peter :-)

Lyrics
Autumn Falling - Peter Bowen (May 2013)
[Asus4/F] [Am] [Em] [F][E] [Am]
A [Am] solitary, swaying leaf floats [G9] slowly in the damp, still air
The [F(b5)] chill of the early evening shrouds my [E] face
[Am] Trees like gnarled, black skeletons par[G9]ade in fading light
An [F(b5)] Impressionistic painting gone to [E] waste
[F] Angels of stained glass adorn lit [Am] windows as I walk
The [F(b5)] muffled forms of strangers hurry [E] by
They scurry [Am] silently but anxiously [G9] towards the warmth of home
[F] Dusk drains the primary colours from the [Am] sky
[Asus4/F] [Am] [Em] [F][E] [Am]
The sun appears belatedly 'neath clouds low in the western sky
Its golden arcs the last rites of the day
But the fire is doused immediately, a lighthouse swiftly boarded up
The darkness is in haste to hold its sway
Autumn's almost fallen and the winter is well nigh
The ever-changing seasons of a life
In the twilight stages of my brief appearance here on earth
I trust I'll keep my strength and do what's right
[Asus4/F] [Am] [Em] [F][E] [Am]
Lead over verse 1 & 2 and outro
[Asus4/F] [Am] [Em] [F][E] [Am]

This is some thoughtful and visual lyrical writing. And you've married your heartfelt vocal with a tasteful and elegant musical accompaniment. Bravo!
