I Dream Of You

When I’m feeling low
I know just where to go
I go home
I go home

When I’m feeling blue
I know just what to do
I call you
I call you

When I close my eyes
Everything flies
And floats up to a star beside the moon

Underneath the sky
No explanations why
I don’t sleep
I just dream
I just dream of you

When you do your part
To open up my heart
You are mine
You are mine

When the day is done
Two becoming one
Then I know
Then I know

When I’m feeling fine
There is no sense of time
We live our lives as lovers often do

I just close my eyes
No whens or wheres or whys
I don’t sleep
I just dream
I just dream of you

Takamine TAN15C acoustic guitar, Sennheiser mic
I did the acoustic guitar and vocals. My friend who is an amateur producer added the rest. Honestly, I couldn't tell you everything he used

I dream of you
CLean guitar starts this off well. Warm vocal. The entry of the harmony line has impact. The strings are gentle - I like them. I like the way you develop the song, with new elements entering as it progresses. Good plaintive tone to the guitar solo. Beautiful work!

Right from the acoustic intro
this is sounding much better than your first version. I like the song a lot, and your performances are excellent. Love the harmonies and your lead vocal is excellent. Not sure about the strings, but they seem more controlled in this mix.
The mix is vastly improved here. I've been doing an A/B comparison between versions, and this is much more listenable. I found the first version almost too much to listen to, but here you've cut back on the loudness/compression and let the softness of the performance come out more. You've obviously done more than just taken some reverb off the vocals.
Great track! Congratulations. Glad to see someone actually listening to constructive criticism and making some changes.
Best wishes from Oz,

Great ears, Neil! In fact, I did pass along your comments to my amateur producer friend and he did make a number of those adjustments for the final mix. A good is a good suggestion. And we both thought yours were good.

I Dream of You has a nice easy groove, almost floating feel to it. Nice guitar and vocals. I could listen to this song over and over.
