Lovely
Gentle and beckoning... emotional and satisfying! I very much enjoyed this! Good voice leading in the strings... :)

I was going for "lovely" :) and a composer can't ask for more than "satisfying" from a listener. Thanks!

Wistful...
Your graphic is a perfect visual description of this plaintive, reflective little number. I very much like the interplay between cello and violin...and the piano fills are an unusual addition to the harmonic fabric here. You've achieved, I think, a very "real" sound or presence in your digital realization of this cinematic music, mostly because you've not cluttered the performance with unnecessary reverb. THIS piece strikes me as being long enough to convey a narrative and brief enough to not overstay its welcome. Nicely-fashioned and delicately performed. A great addition to your collection of street scenes. Much enjoyed.

achieving realism
I'm glad to hear it works to your ear. I tried to limit the number of musical ideas, and give this more of a "song" quality; it's quite different than the more complex "Subway" scene. (The Van Gogh painting was the image I had in mind, so it seemed the appropriate 'cover.' :)

I strive to write playable parts for the instruments, but my extremely limited ability at the piano is no guide for what is easy/hard or what fits the hand well. Whenever I can, I get feedback on the scores from people who can actually play the instruments.

Thanks for your time offer such thorough comments.

A lovely piece of music.

You should really think of getting a better strings soundset. This music deserves it.

Oh, this is beautiful. I love the use of the strings to fill in the piano spaces. Very tender song.
