A Beatley concoction. I misheard something while I was in the shower, and this is the result.

this is even better than the version i heard. what, did you have a bout of melodic genius? i mean this is really commercial sounding--i mean that in a good way--all the way down to the instrumentation and production. one to be proud of, i feel.

That's why I was anxious to post
I still have much work to do - I haven't touched the drums for example - but I wanted to share my excitement and see the reactions.

Inspired by Sir Paul
It's a lot "Hey Jude" and "Isn't it a Pity", with some Richard Thompson and Harrison flourishes thrown in for good measure. Happy you like it, Chris.

Am enjoying this from the reminding me-of-the Harrison- "And Your Bird Can Sing" beginning! But different!

Raga - riffic
I love that type of run with one string ringing all the way through. I'm glad you do too, Iyzak.

But now I'm thinking the last part of "Day in the Life." Not that I've nicked it, or anything! Cheers, Vic.

Do you ever write a bad song presented through a boring arrangement? Some guys have all the talent! Downloaded!

Yup
But they're still on the hard drive! Plus, I have very good advice. Sam's been guiding me on the latest version. I think I beat the Loudness Wars guys with the last master. Thanks for your time, Mr Bass.

Beatles...
meet Jerry Reed meet Tears for Fears... Wish I could think like this, and write things that make such melodic sense and have such high levels of interest. Not a boring second here. You take risks. Bravo to you sir. Am looking forward to the finished version, you say there's work to do...

Nearly done
I've added some secret messages, fixed wonky notes, and attempted to tame the raucousness. I'll repost eventually. Cheers, Llarion.

I like the guitar tones you use. Swirling harmonies work well. Good message in the lyrics, although sometimes I think people who think they have the answer share it too often :-). Your work is always entertaining, Graham - this is no exception!

"Liverpool Bright"
is what it mostly is. You're right about people needing to shut up, but for every 100 lippy nits there's one with a viable plan for disposing of the Sargasso of Plastic. Thank you for listening, Philip.

The answer
The GE sound is strong in this one. Really airtight. Nice touches throughout. Great harmonies. Great mix.

The GE force is strong
Thanks to the SD and HATS evaluations systems, the latest mix is much better than this. I'll post it when this version has fizzled out, and I've had time to have a go at the drums. Thanks for popping in, Les.

The Ovation is lovely - the others, less so. But you can make most things sound good if you work at them, even my voice! Cheers, Bob.

Almost like a Beatles mashup there are so many nods to the fab four :-) It has a real sense of time and place and uber appeal. It just rolls out so nicely. Like the balance and retro feel of the mix. Another very fine post, Graham. Thanks, Peter.

I can't help it
It's in the blood. I remember getting the shivers when I heard "Help" for the first time on on Radio Luxembourg. I didn't set out to do a Beatles pastiche, but that's the way it wrote itself. I'm most chuffed about the chord progressions, which give the illusion of going ever upward. Thanks for listening, Philip.

Probably George Formby
The first LP I bought was a George Formby one. The second was Revolver. How hip is that? I'm very pleased that you enjoyed it, Mr G.
