God, I'd LOVE to have one of those! Cool track, very enjoyable. Your versatility is a great strength.

Thanks!
The EWI is a blast to play! I recommend it, but you have to get a pretty good software instrument behind it. The Samplemodeling offerings are a bit pricey but incredible :)

Wow ... nice sounding instruments. Trumpet sounds amazing. Do all these instruments come with Logicx? Got to make the step up from GB to Logic.
Is that a clav that that rhythmically drives this piece? You've done a great job on piecing this together.

Thanks
Glad you liked this - this piece featured lots of assorted plugins. The Logic native ones are the drummer, bass and clav. I think the jazz guitar is Kontakt Factory sample and the trumpet/sax are both from Samplemodeling and performed with the EWI (Electronic wind instrument). Everything was MIDI on this one - I made heavy use of the new MIDI effects available in Logic to do the rhythm section.

Much obliged
Glad you liked it. I had a little more structure to this one - helped with the Drummer track. Has distinct choruses, verses, intros, outros etc.

the horns on this .... really nice sound. I find getting these to sound correct a challenge ... obviously you don't!

Horns!
The combination of Samplemodeling's trumpets/saxes with the wind controller works out very well for me. Glad you enjoyed it !

Cringeless!
Thanks for the thumbs up on the horns! I know what you mean about cringy horns - I did a jazz piece (Hvorden Hard dues or somesuch) on here - somewhere in my list years ago with cringe-worthy flat horns. I find the samplemodeling horns along with the wind controller to be as good as it gets MIDI wise. I would say that while the MIDI horns can't do everything trumpets or saxes do, what they do provide, sounds very real. Little things like 1/2 valving aren't really there.

An engaging, contemporary take on smooth jazz, Mike. You are certainly getting some fine sound out of the EWI and your Logic mix is open and spacious. Thanks, Peter.
