Wonderful stuff here Michael!
I took a lot of time listening to this paying specific attention to one instrument at a time and where it worked in with the others and what struck me is how deftly placed they were and so complementary to one another. It added up to a an extremely nice whole, I really liked this! I'm trying to learn to create pieces similar to this and I'm lucky to have such excellent work to study. Great job and thanks for sharing this! By the way, about the artwork, surely there must be a less painful way to measure one's hat size! Michael

Thanks!
I appreciate the careful listening! Garageband on the iPad has its limitations, so it is important to pick sounds that blend well at the outset. Very few possibilities for automation or post mix fixes. For post mixing it is possible to move the project to the desktop in either Garageband or Logic but I kept this one on the iPad.

Thanks!
Kept this one a little simpler - The 303ish baseline holds it together I think.

Lots to like here. All the complementary sounds make a comfortable bed for the fun. The pervasive counter rhythm is a welcome aspect absent from most of the material in this genre.
The production skills are right as usual. This sounds like development of some new skills. Keep the hits coming!

Thanks!
I don't use Garageband that often so I did put a few different synths together this time. Glad you enjoyed it.

Love it!
Improvisations over a tasteful foundation. This really grooves right along. Am I hearing the Akai here also in the solo work? Very cool improv, Mike!

No EWI this one :)
Thanks for the comments. Didn't use the EWI on this one. With the iPad, I usually keep thinks portable. To use the EWI on the iPad I have to plug in a plethora of adapters and hubs which usually just drives me back to my desktop. The sax on this one is done with Thumbjam - a pretty good sampling app. You modulate and bend notes with touch gestures. I don't think its close to SampleModeling on the desktop but its not bad.

Bumps..
I like the way this moves along. It's an energy summons -er. The quality of your production, as someone earlier mentioned, is always informative.

Nicely done...
... on the iPad, no less. Great groove to start the new year with. I've been using the iPad quite a bit for some parts of songs. You've done an excellent job...
