Description
This is a song dying for lyrics! if you like what you hear and some fitting lyrics come to mind, get with me and let's collaborate and finish this song. I structured it for lyrics when I arranged it, but I can't sing and my brother (who wrote some of the guitar parts for this) says his voice isn't suited for this style of music :)

Remastered :)
I got so carried away throwing out a lyric lifeline I forgot to mention that I re-posted this song because I completely re-balanced the stems and remastered it with new knowledge in Logic Pro X. Let me know what you think of the mix.

Really enjoying this.
Some things do sound better with lyrics, but you're reminding me of the Mogwai sound, which thrived without lyrics. Just rock represented by sparse guitars and heavy drums.

Really loving this track, and I will appreciate it whether lyrics get attached or not.

Re: Preference
Thank you for the comment. You know, the more I listen to and work on this song, the more it sounds like a musical to me instead of a song missing lyrics. I still feel like something is missing, but maybe another guitar just adding another layer is what it needs.

David
This is a good piece of music. While I am no expert on these things, the mix seems good to me. I am not sure about whether the song "needs" lyrics or not. It seems to work fine on its own. Perhaps you can add a scorching guitar solo in the style of David Gilmour.

Thank you
for the feedback! I think a guitar solo is always an excellent idea...

really cool
song. i'd say the bass was a hair thick, but then again, i like how it hits the body when it comes in. very full.

The bass is thick
and that was actually an EQ decision that I went back and forth on many times at the end. I ended up going with the heavy bass, especially out of that ridiculous kick drum and low tom, mostly because I was deliberately trying to get a raw and powerful feel. There's a pretty good chance if I come back to this song with lyrics or a nice lead guitar part that I will mix that version differently for better balance with the new part.

Thanks! Those toms are massive,
sometimes ridiculously so. I call the kit I used in this song my Bonham kit because it sounds like all the drums are 10 feet around. It is way too overpowering for lots of applications, but I thought it fit for this one. Thank you for the feedback.

Such a "big" sound happening here, David. Nice change around the 2.30 mark. You are right about needing a good vocal fit for the song. Out of my league :-) Good luck with it. Thanks, Peter.

Thanks Peter
This one has so much personal meaning since it's the first song I did with my brother and the first song that really got me serious about recording. I'm looking forward to watching it grow over time.

Hi, Dave Gilmour here
Not really. I'm happy this is working its way up the MJ "Chart" as it definitely has something. I think a combo of lyrics and lead guitar is what is needed here. And I know just the guy. (Yes, it's Hugo Furst, German singer/songwriter. Not really.) I'm working on it, but it would be cool to hear 2 or more versions of this with lyrics. Any takers?
