Description
A friend had given me a Yamaha Clavinova Elec Piano as a gift back in 2002. She got it in 1988 and no longer played. I was thrilled to finally have a keyboard to fool around with. Not knowing how to play never stops me from trying something. I wrote this piece as a result. The original cassette tape recording was saturated with bad levels, vocals distorting, etc, so I re-recorded it in GB, and added bass and drum parts. Tried to write as simple a song as I could using three chords, Em, D, and B. Still can't really play the thing! However it is stored at my dad's house so all the instruments here are GB.

Lyrics
I need the green
to make it thru the day
I need the green
to pay my way
I need the green
a little more each day
I need the green
to buy the things I see
I need the green
to be who I can be
I need the green
so that I can be free
We need the green
to feed the world today
We need the green
more than we can say
We need the green
a little more each day
without brown and blue the green won't grow
without brown and blue the green won't grow
without brown and blue the green won't grow
without brown and blue and yellow too
in search of green the blue is gray
in search green the brown is dead today
in search of green the yellow is peaking thru
could be the green needs some green too.
to make it thru the day
I need the green

I need the green

Solid backing and warm vocal. Interesting lyrics. Given the fairly heavy beat, I might have put something lighter over the top - a guitar line or a piano that danced a little more - but I certainly enjoyed listening to what you've done with this.
