Lyrics
I want to know your thinking
I want to hear what's in your heart
What is it you are feeling?
Will it in time tear us apart?

Chorus:

Words can hurt and words can harm
please protect me I'm not strong
Speak softly
I can't bear to feel the pain
I can't bear all the shame
Speak softly

I see the look on your face
I see the longing in your eyes
I feel the cold in your touch
I feel the absence of your love

Chorus:

Your body not responding
you're slowly moving away
I know it's gone forever
there is nothing left to say

Epic underscoring...
Garni has a distinct manner of painting with his digital orchestra that always engulfs the listener in a luxurious wash of sound...and all of that so expertly mixed. ... It does, though, take over the vocal on this track and becomes the focus of the song rather than letting the voice and the lyrics take the prime position. The lyrics are so sad, though hard to hear...I don't understand the line "I see the longing in your eyes...I feel the absence of your love." The two ideas are opposites, so I am a little confused about the idea being expressed. The final stanza, though, is powerful: "...there is nothing left to say." This really DOES sum up the intent of the song.

Hi Paul
the longing in your eyes means his longing to be free, his longing for something else, someone else. I wrote this as a expression of some past hurt. I love to journal in my music. Hope that helps you understand more:) Thanks for listening!

Now I get it...
Thanks, Lisa, for clarifying that for me. And journaling through music is such a natural way to express, well, just about everything. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talents and your genuine thoughts. They enrich us all.

FAB
The stabby synths at the outset with the bass drone growl set the stage so by the time that the vocal starts I'm in the mood for a full on pop song. The chore harmonies start, then the lead vocal enters and off we go. It's really well done guys - has a Euro feel to my instincts which is cool. A little like the Eurythmics now that I think of it. Very fine singing Lisa - you sound like you were doing this all your life. And the backing Garni is just restrained enough to make the drive that is there all the stronger. It would be easy to go nuts on the backing (I would be tempted :)) Downloaded of course, and with thanks to you both!

Big sound from the backing - Gerald is in fine form here - which provides a rich bed for your warm vocal. Much enjoyed!

really big
sound to this one...almost ethereal. i think the most interesting aspect is the 'mood' your vocals and Garn's music create together. quite dramatic.

Garni creates some fantastic music
And your vocals compliment the mood. What a match for a first time collab. Your soothing vocals emote and the message is well delivered. Enjoyed.
