I never thought about ever opening garageband even though it was there on my mac for quite some time. I always though it would be too time consuming and difficult ... I liked to be spontaneous so I just ignored it. One day 3 years ago I opened it out of curiosity but all I could access were loops because I didn't have an interface. Then I wondered if my daughters casio keyboard would work. After some google research I checked the keyboard and it had a midi out complete with the usb cord.
So I started my first track and quickly discovered I could lay down a bass groove pretty quickly with a drum pattern. Then I could access keyboard sounds .... wow!! I created a song .... but I'm a guitar player .... I looked at the local buy and sell and found a mobile pre interface for $60. I met the guy downtown and exchanged the money for the the stuff, went right home, set it up and began playing my old 63 jazz master guitar. I kicked myself for not opening garageband before and got hooked on the drug....

This piece is that first piece and the first song I posted on Macjams 3 years ago. I always wanted to remix it and now that I have more tools at my calling I did and decided to post it.
Peacepiano did an amazing creative version for the mj cover challenge http://macjams.com/song/76969 and took it into a very cool direction.

Oh ... and Soundhound was the first MJ'r to comment...

I'm back after changing the genre 3 times ... where would this go?

Great sound...
VEry interesting backing sound that holds the whole piece together nicely. Then when you come in all those solos, the whole thing takes off in such a pleasant way. The overall mix is really clean to my ears. Nice going. Very pleasant listen with lots of little surprises along the way which give a whole lot of interest to the whole.
