Description

Here's another song just in time for Autumn, from my reel to reel vaults. I recorded it in the late 60's singing with guitar when I was in my early thirties, and a couple of years ago I added a piano and some strings in GB to sort of 'pack it out' since it's a 'concerto' (LOL). Hope you like it as I've always loved this song since it was first published. I love those Italian melodies and It was written by C. Bargoni, with English lyrics by Paul Siegel, John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons.

The recording does have a 'warm' feel to it your right. I only just moved my Grundig tape-recorder yesterday from one room to another (just wish i could get it repaired). This was originally recorded in one take, vocal and guitar, because my TK20 model only recorded one track as opposed to the larger model which recorded two. 	Autumn Concerto A song style that always makes me think of the Mario Lanza record that my dad used to play and sing to in the 60's. Wonderful, fluid, rich rendition, Maurice. appreciate those superlatives Peter..... I really miss those wonderful melodies. I remember a guy I sang with at one time, buying a Yamaha digital amplifier and the first thing I noticed was the thin-ness of the sound in comparison to my Sound-City valve amp; to my ears, all the warmth had gone, Thank you for those very kind words. cheers M

Apart from the sound quality from the reel to reel tapes i also think the Sure (28?) mic' I had at the time helped. The composers names are in my notes at the top and they are written by C. Bargoni, with English lyrics by Paul Siegel, John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons. I also tried to find the song through Google and could only get some Chinese film named 'Autumn Concerto'. M, I remember that you posted this a couple (or three) years ago. Very nice to hear it again. Your voice as a young man is just terrific and the recording holds up beautifully. I loved hearing this again and am glad you put it back up. Such a long and beautiful life as a musician. Our blessing that you fell in love with these romantic songs so long ago.
