Orison (for Lynn)

 Genre: Ambient

Get Flash to see this player.

Consisting of an Alchemy Didgeridoo preset, a Boldt Panflute, and some Nature FX, this piece is a prayer for my sister, to wish her well. Twelve years younger than me, she lives on Vancouver Island with the love of her life. She was diagnosed recently with an inoperable cancer.

Orison is an archaic word for prayer. My thought is, the more this is played, the more likely the prayer will be heard, so if you like it, please play it often.

This one's for you, Lynn: I love you and I'm thinking of you.

I never expected that my little prayer would keep Lynn alive forever: sadly she passed away on Valentine's Day 2015. I still love her and still think about her.

Too much bad in the world at the moment, where or when will it end... Maybe if we play this many many times. Yeah, I think that might just do it, or at least help on the way...

Thanks and take good care,

This lovely
piece has a real sense of feeling about it Richard, as though it's searching or reaching out....as prayers do. So sad to hear of your sisters plight, but prayers are energy as are thoughts (one and the same) so as many as we can muster, should send them out to her and the family, regards M

Lovely music
for your sister. Clear as anything. The passing storm. I can say no more except to wish you strength. Not an easy time.

Beautiful offering
Difficult to put into words what I feel when reading this and listening to your prayerful and deeply inspiring music. But listening to this I also get a sense of tremendous inner strength.

Some of the most powerful, healing qualities music can invoke are peace and love in their highest form. This beautiful offering reminds me of that ideal.

I have been playing this on a loop for a while now and can find a little comfort only in believing that what we call tragedy can sometimes bring out the most precious things we can offer to each other. Even if there is less time to share them. And also that your sister has someone with a good heart like yourself and loving people around her. I hope this is not too forward of me to say.

Thank you for sharing this with us and best wishes during this difficult time.

So sad...
...and so beautiful all at the same time, Richard. I don't know why I am so late to this piece, but I am so very glad I found it this evening. You have created a song with such exquisite reverence and longing and peace. Beautiful crafting of many different sounds/instruments, carefully arranged and lovingly rendered with an unrushed tempo. This is just beautiful, as your sister must have been. I am hoping she is hearing this this evening as I play it...several times. You've created something very special here. Blessings....
