I listened
to this in my car tonight, driving through the snow: beautiful! The bass. is. HUGE, the weaving guitars nudge the whole thing forward and that high-pitched synth drone wormed it's way through my head the whole time. Much enjoyed!

Ah Stinky Stuff
That just cleared the whole day up. A mile wide and a 1/4 inch thick. Yet it does saturate nicely. Ya'll musta rubbed some of that skunk stuff on there, didn't ya...

Welllll, I find if I try to be all things to everyone I fail completely. I'm at my best when I explore one facet of art at a time. Glad to hear it cleared up your day tho!

Wonderful. Elements from several different directions that appeal to me, not the least of which is patience. Works on multiple levels.

I saw Godspeed You Black Emperor several years ago, and I caught myself marveling several times how patient both of their drummers were.
In the spirit of full disclosure, S1, the guitarist/bassist, is the patient shaman here: I sent him a rhythm track and he did the rest.
Thanks very much for listening,

S1 here,
Thanks for the props Les. I had to really really hold back on this one. It is always so tempting to just let fly, but patience as you say is what really makes this song.

S2's rhythm track with it's weaving, syncopated shakers and marimba's and synths was the real leaping off point. I am always challenged and inspired when S2 sends me something that makes we work just a little harder and think a little more before jumping into tracking.

Thanks of the listen!

Cool track
I like the way the bass moves around and locates this at the same time - good tone and just the right level in my phones. The panned shakers work well too. Altogether an unusual and enjoyable piece.

Cool Track
Thanks Kev. If there is one guy on MJ who I would say could appreciate and would dig this piece, it's you! S2's sound bed of the rhythm and shakers was the real impetus that got me going on tis one. Having patience to let it develop oh so slowly over time was a struggle, but I think it paid off in the end!

Warm and imaginative, this is. Loved it. Reminiscent of Michael Brook, which is a good thing.

Reminded me a bit of JJ Cale lead break... Simplicity and style in spades. Sounds great. Creative, subtle variations on a theme. Wicked bass. Thanks, Peter.
