Hello sports fans and faithful followers of the endless degenerate soap opera of distraction we currently call American culture.

Yes, your fav Daugrin, howling out against evil. Here, I offer a wild setting for Psalm 46. This Psalm is famous for the numerological clues which suggest loudly Bacon populated the Shakespeare canon. Ask a Cretin for details... or better Google, lol.

The King James' Bible was initially illegal for ordinary people to own, the invention of movable type did not improve the knowledge base for seekers who respected the King's laws, Psalm 46 holds clues to the process by which the masses where brought into possession of the source material for the Church and additionally the sublime creations of Billy Shakes.

I worked up this piece after I heard a recording of President Obama read Psalm 46 at a 9/11 event. What music did you hear in your heart that day of memorial? A curious choice by the President, to read Psalm 46? Naw... not when you are hip to the details.

As I have posted 9/11 inspired previously, allow me to suggest an understanding of BIG lies is required. The Nazi in Germany made a craft out making BIG lies believable. The Leader and his drones repeated the BIG lies endlessly and concurrently destroyed all dissent. Where have we seen that? Cretins dig crafts btw...lol.

It is my heartfelt contention Cretins can't create anything, say, write a piece of music, or, a sonnet. Cretins learn to imitate music and language, but doubt with me please, the Cretin can't appreciate the discipline of the Muse. Cretins, I labor on, don't approach creation for it frightens them. Creation is not the way of their master. Cretins, additionally can't say, emulate or amalgamate, do you need proof of this? Ears?

The gospel inspired changes presented might roll by undetected? Certainly, a friendly Cretin will perceive them... You, on the other hand dearest listener, will hear the gospel, 6-2-5-1... with wild variation, in the harmony...

Dbmaj7- Bb7b9- Ebmin7- Aflat13b9... the piece is properly heard in Bb. The pulse is four in the percussion, but you will hear many odd rhythmic groupings in the horns. Also in the horns one might enjoy the rendering of the super arpeggio in Bb and the default exploitation of the whole tone scale by your humble servant.

So then, what you got in your heart? Music? Or witless imitation? Time to put up!

From the KJ version, edited by a companion of WB?

46 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

the daug's back at it. nice.

interesting distorted effect on our commander in chief's voice. i am looking forward to when a president doesn't feel compelled to recite bible verses. will this create an even more "degenerate soap opera"? don't think so.

short and sweet, this is a very rhythmically dense piece of work creating a sense of chaos and tension. your music seems to take me to dark places of the psyche that i'm not terribly interested in visiting, but know it's important journey to take anyway.

thanks again.

Been here since the place opened. I hope you enjoy yourself here at MJ. In fall 2009, I erased the 60+ tunes I had posted since day one. MJ had changed, becoming hateful and repressive, and I needed to respond appropriately. What happe... [see more]
