Well it's time that I be leaving
though I've got no place to go
as long as you are in my heart my love
every place is home
and I've been thinking about the way things are
and how they might have been
but that don't give us back the love we lost
I've lost my way again.

There's a love somewhere
higher than the stars that shine around your little face
and make you seem to be so far away
in another constellation
at another place in time
we were conquistadors on other shores
and mine was yours
and you were mine.

You can find me there
somewhere down the line
our lives run parallel
but what the hell
if they don't converge
it's just as well
for the future has been calling me
calling on and on
forever you are in my heart my love
I'll never walk alone...
...but I must be moving on.

There's a love somewhere
higher than the stars that shine above

What a great
song Michael.....sounds like a backdrop to one of those 'homely' country movies. I like the unusual timing on the words as well as the warm feel in the backing instruments....nicely thought out lyrics too.........it's on my mind and it won't go ha ha; had to play twice so i could sing along to that timing....good job, regards M

The future keeps calling
Nice job on creating that peaceful easy feeling vibe.

I particularly like the harmonica .. and I thought it could've even returned for one more appearance at the end.

Positive message wrapped up in an endearing style that channels a simpler time. Liking the vocal work and the warm arrangement. Thanks, Peter.

These lyrics are wonderful - I always appreciate your songwriting skills, and so expertly delivered. I'm taking a D/L - and thanks for that!

I like this. A down home feeling. Folk-rock to the core. Good lead voice and rich harmonies. And I'm always a sucker for harmonica. The song intro is a little spongy and soft. Try to tighten it up; make it feel declarative, not apologetic.

Somewhere higher
the lyrics lay it down for the love. Nice work on the vocals and harmonica, they fit so well in the mix.

Thanks for the download.
