. . . Recent Rendition from a few days back. Yes i chose 'Folk Traditional' Category for several reasons . . . maybe the natural of this recording and general feel -

' Having this REM event . . . rarely a song ! - but this time yes - very strange how it was just implanted into the brain like that - with not having heard this in years - and so within those events i was playing this tune and doing harmony - amongst a quiet face-forward mob - outside - before playing i was watching the already performing ensemble. it was musty and damp - way elevated somewhere - in some fortress -
well all that was available to play upon was an old battered odd keyboard with only 7 or 8 hard metal knobs as keys to press down - but the guy who let me sit-in still thought it was the greatest instrument - and seemed appreciative to be there - in the dream i was somehow sitting down and playing it - even though - in order to reach the cold metal key-knobs - you had to stand 7 feet tall and reach higher yet - up at the top by the traditional gun-blocked-front-tooth-shaped barrier defense notches - and then during designated solo segments i could see over the top of the maybe ten-level fortress - and could see rolling hills beyond clearly - i asked the band member how he did it - and he said " i only need to stand during the metal knob key soloing."
' Dreamed just the other night... well - closer to the later R.E.M. morning spurge.

Anyway before this day i could not decide what to do next here - amongst 4 possibilities - and that dream was so vivid - that it decided for me -

. . . "and i feel myself in bloom" . . .

. . . Could not find foam or a wind-screen nearby - ' used a little green winter sock on the audix to help with 'popping'.

Levels turned out maybe too hot here with the vocals - as i was using some inferior ear buds.

' Derived largely from the 1967 Lovin' Spoonful Song .

. . point of origin for songwriting and works being from John Sebastian.

(Also used in a Francis Ford Coppola movie "You're a big boy now".)

Another spoonful, please
Love the warm piano sound. Vocals are full emotion and authentic. One idea (and you definitely don't need to follow this), you don't need to play the melody in the right hand. Makes it sound like you're singing along to a piano solo. Consider playing a harmony line instead. But, regardless, very enjoyable, honest tune. Thanks for sharing. And thanks for sharing your Lovin' Spoonful inspiration in your notes. Appreciated.

There's an intimacy and straightforwardness to your vocal. You've left lots of room for the lead in your mix especially with the simple orchestration.

Nice job! Enjoyed the listen.
