All I'll Ever Need
I like the arrangement. The various instruments - especially the guitar and the cello - work well together. Evocative vocal. It's good!

I'm somewhat partial to Cello
My second daughter use to play one in orchestra. The youngest plays the viola, I think the tone of those two instruments have to be my favorite. Your son is a talent, oh how I wish I could get a family member interested in the guitar. Greg emotes so well when delivering the message. Thanks for sharing.

Yea it's great to have another guitar player under the same roof, we are always bouncing ideas of each other. My daughter is beginning to take an interest in music now, in the back of my mind I'd like for her to pick up the cello.,,Thanks again for the comment.

All I'll ever Need
Liking the acoustic vibe of the intro. Greg has the angst dialled up. The arrangement works well and I like the use of the piano. I think the cello is a winner, too. Nice one, guys. Thanks.

Excellent!
I really like the mix of instruments. The cello is a nice touch and it's a good clear production.

A fine vocal performance.

Yes, a few nits perhaps but they are minor and with such quality material they aren't important.

Cheers

Dick

Good arrangement
Nice use of the various instruments. Like others have said the cello is really nice. The vocal kind of startled me at first because I wasn't expecting that tonal quality and emotion in a soft song like this but I grew to like it more and more as I listened.

We're thinking of doing a more "pure" version in the future, but went with the alt rock thing for now. Good to hear that you grew to like it. Comment is much appreciated. thanks again.

Actually, the timing that you self-describe as 'off' ...
... is one of the nicest aspects of this composition.   There is a lot of variety between the various phrases in the song:   instrumentation, time-signature(?), and rhythm/syncopation.   Very nice, and passionately sung.

Astute observation. Can't tell you how many times we have reworked a song and lost some of the dynamics that made it special in the first place.... I always say it's like catching lightning in a bottle. Your comments are very much appreciated.

Enjoyed
I like the emotion of this and the tempo breaks, the instrumentation and that great vocal. Put me in mind of one or two early Hickling Stan songs we used to do back in the day. Mind you we never had a cello!!!

Feel is more important
It sounds more human than metronome accuracy. I like the cello - you don't often hear one. Good, show, chaps.

Hauntingly beautiful
There are so many different ways to produce a song that sometimes it's overwhelming .. and it's easy to magnify the flaws instead of seeing the good points. This song is loaded with good points. And besides, who wants perfection? I think it's way more important to sit down and just do it the best that you can do at the moment (yes, life's too short). If you can circle back to it again, that's cool, but over-producing is a bigger killer of songs than worrying about a few flaws. (This is easy for me to say because I seem to specialize in flaws.)

Love that cello!

You should post the lyrics. (I always seem to say that.)

Many nice elements...
...in this recording, especially the mournful cello track. I really like the simple arrangement which serves your vocal so well and without getting in the way of it. I didn't hear the imperfections you speak of in your notes. Maybe it's those that give this such a genuine quality. ... I'd bring the vocal UP in your mix. Too soft and sometimes gets lost. ... A rather mournful song.

The understated strings are a nice touch here. You guys sound great together. Lots of solid emotion both in the vocal but in the whole production. It must be great to play with your son!
