Dance In The Dark

 Genre: Ambient

Playing around with soft synths and a few loops, trying to be creative but it is not easy as the music spirit is almost gone.

Peace, love & respect all Macjamers.

Dance in the Dark
When that floating voice comes in, it really ties the whole song together... dark, moody, brooding, with a touch of hypnotic hope. xoxo

surprised me is the "warm" sound from the synths as opposed to 'sterile' sounding as I'm biased into expecting (not from you, but in general). Very earthy sound to them. Whether the instruments or the how you mixed them, it works pretty damn well. "Moody" is indeed the operative word here.

It's not gone ... sometimes it just needs a rest and then it will come back even better. But from what I am hearing here there is no lack of spirit ... thoughts from the dark side ... I have to agree with Morning Light ... the vox is like a centre point tying it all together.

This sounds great, and organic. Like Stan says, give it a rest, go for a walk and then come back to it. But this particular song does not sound like it's from someone who's lost the musical spirit.

I agree with Graham and Sam, so warm and organic. Atmospheric and elemental. The deep space siren call is brilliant. You've still go it, Kenta. Thanks.

Big sound. The darkness is certainly there. Well constructed piece.

Love the build
I was wondering if you were going to introduce beats somewhere but it was ambient-like for so long I thought it was a purely low key piece. I love the sounds of the rhythm synths you included. Nicely constructed my friend.

One thing about musical spirit. It may be gone at this moment. Or in an hour from now. Or tomorrow. But there's no predicting about what will happen next week... next month ... next year.

Stay well Kent and give yourself time to put together a little tune from time to time and see what happens. Nothing ever stays the same.

I had a 3 year break from here when nothing would come at all. Written 3 songs this year and a few other ideas. Might not be the flood it once was but it's come back at it's own pace and in it's own time. sure it will be the same for you. All the best. mark

I've missed a few of yours I think - sorry :(
This is a really thoughtful piece, relaxed and imaginative. I can imagine it being used as the opening music for one of the "Scandi noir" TV series that seem to be so ubiquitous at the moment. Lots of scope for fog-hidden landscapes, snowed-in cottages and icy roads.
You are still very good at this my friend - great post!
Cheers from Oz,

Your music is always a great listen.
Even if something isn’t up to your high standards it always entertains. Another fine work Kenta.

Wide and evocative sound...
I was suddenly thinking of Tim Burton's " A Nightmare Before Christmas" in the most positive way. This is spooky and elegant all at the same time and has that jangly sound of small Christmas bells playing in magical counterpoint. Very inventive and well-mixed track of ambient sounds that create a special atmosphere that compels the listener to step inside and listen carefully.

Yes, indeed!
This is really fine work Kenta. I sincerely hope all these positive comments help to revive that flagging spirit so you can get back to creating more great music you are so known for. Cheers bro.

Loved Neil's "Scandi Noir" comment :-)
