Wish I had something to sing about
Instead of just tossin’ these words out
Dancing around the same old chords
And just endin up crossing swords

Gotta be something new to talk about
Without havin to think it out
Just give me some kinda clue
You know just how I rely on you

Time is passing way too fast
Cutting deep like shards of glass
Snarlin at me as I pass
While Im living in some desperate past…

Im thinkin things aint so bad
Why am I sittin here feeling sad?
Guess its just those melancholy thoughts
What could it mean and what weve all lost?....

Nice rock 'n' roll...
I enjoyed hearing this number, but wonder about the lyrics. You have an easy enough way with the words. Just translate them to something you care about... Great solo guitar leads throughout the number... VERY LOUD band that obscures the vocals completely. Maybe when you find a story to tell, you will do so with a clear vocal solo, too. You've got a very strong band there, Dennis. IT could be the solo. Some wonderful guitar work, too.

Something to song about
There's an angry melancholia comes across - I hope you're OK? Certainly, the music is - love your playing, your singing and the arrangement of the song. Impressive work, Dennis.

A Borrowed Tune
Production supports the efforts here, cliche chord progression, but there was a bridge that opened things up. Great work there!
The Gretsch thing is working nice... the solo is workmanlike, effective... Vocals are in the tradition from which the form is drawn.
I would encourage ya to write about something that is more important than writing about not having anything important to write about. Yet this is a common meme... Open your eyes, if ya want something new to say.

Hope you happy-up soon :)
You do have a way with words but I too felt the band smothering them a little. Super solo.
