At Starbucks...

Get Flash to see this player.

Dedicated to my friend Michael, glad to have ya back in town!
I can't go to Starbucks anymore...
This one is another sneaky track, like "Too Hip to Trip", that burst through while I was working on a CD project.
Silence at the end there a bit. Bitch vomited on the wha pedal during that last solo section and I had to clean my foot off, guitar vomit is toxic, before I got to turn the recording feature off.

Let there be no doubt.
Tyrant wears an angel's face truth becomes confusion.
Programmed not to turn away- hold your place in the delusion.
Wonder where the lightning sleeps?
Zombie children of the beast, imagine you will love it more before ya love it least.
Angel cracks a tyrant's smile,
Tell me lies with style, tell me lies of urgency.
Tell me there's emergency, how many more must die...

Only darkness.
Death Angel, who separates souls from God stands before me.
I can not move.
Death takes me in it's arms, carries me out of darkness.
After an eternity of walking we arrive at the Gates of Hell.
In the arms of Death, we cross the bridge that separates life and death.
I scream and cry, and shout, beg the Death Angel not to leave me in hell.
After a lifetime we reach the end of the bridge.
Multitudes of souls, millions upon millions, grieve and howl, beg for
Release from their suffering.
Still Death carries me forward, onward through the hideous throng.
We arrive at the Lake of Fire which gives no light yet burns through Heaven and Hell.
At the edge of the flames, Death stops.
The voice of God thunders above the flames.
"You choose not to fear me? You choose not to believe in righteousness?
Behold the truth! In hell all beleive!"

Not sure what this is about...
but it sure is interesting in a very ominous sort of way. One of the best of your recent offerings Daug! Dark, dark, dark...

Be well friend!

Hello Michael
Thank you for your support. I made this a dedication to you... Our friends here that insult and harass you do so because you hold the flag high and are an effective voice for change.
Now by way of explanation, I was at Starbucks, and I heard this tune loudly over the chatter. So I went home and made it...

Haven't been
insulted harassed so much of late. But then, I've tried to avoid getting dragged into Forum debates. (I want to concentrate on making music. It's why I'm here after all...) So these days I leave MJs PC Sheriff and his merry band of self-righteous Deputies to their incessant cyber group hugging. (No Democracy at MJ. Nope. never... Most here haven't the faintest clue what the word means.) I just don't have time for it anymore.

I don't always understand you Daug, but I like and respect you, and enjoy your musical offerings. For me that's enough...

Be well friend!

Hello Vic
How nice to have ya in for a visit. More stuff on the way, I thought you would comment on the composite voice in the section three- it has qualities similar to a recorder, you must have been overwhelmed...

All that from Starbucks?
I must be ordering the wrong blends.
Gee, I surely don't understand this at all, but I can say that it is a mix of really inventive sounds, voices, and styles. I am thinking "nightmare," but that's what I usually think when so many forces collide as they do here. Well, maybe it's all a metaphor for life. Who knows? Yet...it is so nice to hear something so completely original.

Mr. Page once again confused in the house
Last time, I recall, I was asking if you could improvise. And, it appears you can not. Aw well. The title here is "At Starbucks." So the name of the trendy coffee house is standing in for something. Hell perhaps?
I do agree, sometimes lyrics are metaphor for life. I should parse this, explain it all out hu?
Recall that "Tiny Dancer" song by Elton John and Bernie T? The tiny dancer idea was standing in for something else Mr. P, something sexual! Do you know what that lyric was really about? And that was an "in joke" at Starbucks. Hense... I don't know why I bother Sir, you still gotta do yer own thinking...
Thanks for stopping by and sharing. I did miss ya on the piano piece "Clearing". I figured you would be interested in that one, solo piano and all. But you choose to comment on the deep lyrical offering. The rich orchestration on here slips right by you, and the words confuse...there is a playful funny line, a musical joke in the piano part, it's framed by some air blasts, during the journey through Hell, ya didn't even hear it... I don't know Page, you better stick to sticky buns.

Hello Andy
Now, I don't want to alarm you, but I think perhaps the heavy rotation in the Devil's Radio mix has Carpenter's songs, like "Close To You", and all those smarmy ballads from Elton John and Cher... and of course, I have to repeat myself: Michael Jackson is kinda live in hell doing an endless program of "Billy Jean" on the piano, the devil is seated next to MJ on the piano bench offering encouragements like, "Sing it like you know it Mike!" and "Beat those keys MJ!"
You got to listen to stuff like this offering here on this realm, once ya get to hell it's probably a bit too late...

Been here since the place opened. I hope you enjoy yourself here at MJ. In fall 2009, I erased the 60+ tunes I had posted since day one. MJ had changed, becoming hateful and repressive, and I needed to respond appropriately. What happe... [see more]
