Description
It’s called Song for Sons, but I guess it's really a song for parents of grown up sons. This one came together really quickly, and I decided to just record the energy of a straight live guitar and vocal run through with just a few overdubs. It might resonate with some of you out there. They grow up so fast!

Lyrics
Song for Sons
I remember
When your whole tiny hand
Held my finger
And I could shoulder
All those early mornings
Cos I loved you
I look at you now
And you’re a man
You could take my hand
In your hand
I read you stories
In the bath on the sofa
And in your bed
I read your favourites
About a bear in the woods
And he snored on
I look at you now
And you’re a man
You could take my hand
In your hand
Half my lifetime
All your lifetime
Half my lifetime ago
Half my lifetime
All your lifetime
I needed to let you know
I took you walking
We'd explore hills and fields
Roundabout
I made up stories
About a dwarf and a badger
In the woods
I remember
When your whole tiny hand
Held my finger
And I could shoulder
All those early mornings
Cos I loved you
I look at you now
And you’re a man
You could take my hand
In your hand
I read you stories
In the bath on the sofa
And in your bed
I read your favourites
About a bear in the woods
And he snored on
I look at you now
And you’re a man
You could take my hand
In your hand
Half my lifetime
All your lifetime
Half my lifetime ago
Half my lifetime
All your lifetime
I needed to let you know
I took you walking
We'd explore hills and fields
Roundabout
I made up stories
About a dwarf and a badger
In the woods

at that handsome little guy. I really like the "captured moment" feel and sound of the song. I don't even know how I'd react had my dad written a song like this for me...if he were a musician.
