Lyrics
Mr. InBetween

Your loneliness is an accident as you’re in-between affairs
Your anxiety rises as your bank account falls
Hanging on holding out in-between jobs
Yes, it seems you’ve become Mr. InBetween

Nothing is as simple as it seems
As you plug into uncertainty in a wireless world
I’m pretty sure there ain’t no cure
Stuck between the future and the past Mr. InBetween

The more Facebook friends you have the less freedom over your time
The more money that you make the harder it is to save a dime
The faster the fall the slower the climb
Life is filled with inconsistencies Mr. InBetween

One or the other
It's either about using the same notes differently .. or playing different notes in the same style .. or somewhere in-between ...

Phone what Phone?
Ah you mean my multi facet electronic wizard. Jump on board you old fogey's and experience the zombie life style. More things happening that don't mean a thing. Good one Warren! Hey we know wireless. Used to have to put an antenna on your roof to get those two stations you know.

Airwaves
Just what we need in life - more meaningless data!

Back in the 1960s when I was a teenager living outside of Minneapolis and the radio was our main social network I remember how excited my brother and I would be when at night we could pull in an AM rock station out of Chicago. It seemed magically hip to hear what was being played in that big city.

The more I hear you sing the more I like your voice.

This is funny. And true.

Singing
I've grown more comfortable with my singing over time. I used to hate the sound of my voice; now I have accepted it for what it is and just let the words flow. My approach mostly relies on phrasing, which I get to by trial and error (which is pretty much the way I work out the guitar parts to the melodies I develop into songs). I suspect I'm pitch-challenged, but I have avoided any pitch-correction software as being antithetical to natural expression. (Of course, if I tried it I might like it.) Double-tracking to add gravity, however, hasn't been eschewed!

Yep, you can put this one on the greatest hits album. Or is it a CD? Or an 8 track?

Definitive Warren
I don't think anyone else sounds like this. I love the instrumental commentaries on the lyrics - they're as unique as the vocals. I'm glad you were able to finish it without me!

Inspiration
I hope that hurricane hasn't set you back too far! Something always seems to be getting in-between creative efforts. Anyway, thanks for providing the inspiration for this little piece. It ended up going somewhere.

One of a kind
This is way more upbeat than I thought it would be from starting to read the lyrics before the music started. Nice use of mute-tracked vocals. The whole vibe is great and is classic in your engaging style. The guitar solos also have an in-between fit in the song. Clever.
