We Can Never Fall (Angry Blue Planet Track 1)

Get Flash to see this player.

This is the first track in my RPM Challenge project, Angry Blue Planet, which I finished a month late. But better late than never, I guess.

The "album" is ten songs, with the loose theme of how pissed off I am about a lot of things going on in the world today. It's mostly anger, but there some optimism too.

Maybe these songs were a little ambitious to try to do during the shortest month of the year, but once I got into it I figured I'd see it t the end no matter how much longer it took. It's about the most prolific I've been musically in years. Plus, there are several other songs I started doing this that didn't really "fit," so some of them may be coming in the near future.

I'll be posting these songs pretty rapidly, so forgive the flooding of the song feed.

Hope you enjoy!

We Can Never Fall

©2018 Joseph Gurner

Times seem tough Em/G/D
Harder every day
We’ve had enough
We want to run away

All seems lost
Like the world is on fire
Stand our ground
And lift each other higher

We can never fall G/D/C
We can never fall G/D/C
When we find our back against the wall G/D/C/Em/D
We can never fall G/D/C/D

Make our stand
Shout it in the street
Hand in hand
Marching to the beat

The time will change
Fear will fade away
We can make things right
Love will rule the day

We can never fall G/D/C
We can never fall G/D/C
When we find our back against the wall G/D/C/Em/D
We can never fall G/D/C/D

Rocking in the faux fall
Grungy Uncle Neil/Pearl Jam sonics with a fuzzy dystopian theme. Safely in the middle of road lyrically, I am not certain if the lyric is a too big to fail entitlement, or, a Garland/Rooney sunshine in the shadows uplift. Maybe both?
The production supported the material. Getting a Grunge light lit is not easy and you nailed the vibe, drums and bass are in a pocket, the main vocal and vocal harmony are effective. The soaring styling on the lead vocal fit the concept. Lot of decisions on the reverb were nailed. Not certain the LP tone or antics stand out enough, could have pushed harder to match the desperate lyrics?
Thank you for posting your material here with us. It takes a lot of work to build a track this effective and your holding the standards high!
