Butterfly effect
Lovely warm opening, Jimmy. The descending chord progression works nicely. The subtle banjo works a treat, too. The chorus came along at just the right time. Great to hear the harmonies. Tasty acoustic work, as well, for sure. Very enjoyable. The song manages to maintain back porch warmth but also radiate a step up in class. Fine work. Thanks to you both! Take care.

Thanks All!
Thanks all of you, I play music and sing out all the time, and it is a huge part of my life, but I am terrified to play my own music in front of people for some reason. This forum means allow me to share my music and enjoy other folks music in a very positive environment. Thanks Again!

How blue is yer grass?
Thanks for sharing your songs with us. The use of linear elements, or story telling, works great here, I desperately wish all lyrics included ideas in the things, that is the troubadour tradition yet sounds so refreshing! Bravo!
Can I make suggestions? No offense intended at all, but the second vocalist might benefit from putting a finger in her ear and closing that little flap there while she's recording. Her mix of herself for both tone and timber will improve, articulation and pitch control will benefit. Singers run out of air, and push too hard at the end of lines. Please prepare a lead sheet for her with breath marks clearly noted in the middle of longer passages. Listen to Emmylou Harris back Parsons on "Love Hurts", her audible breathing on that track is magic, and is a "warming up the record" staple. Gals make records warm, especially on grass!

Thanks!
Daugrin, The singer is one of my teen age daughters, and not sure if you have or had any teenagers or remember being a teenager yourself, but they know everything, by everything I mean everything! God help me if I ever suggested to her how to do anything, especially when it comes to singing! I am lucky if she will spend more than 5 minutes on a song, she listens to it one time, puts in her harmony, then back to whatever it is teenage girls do. We do have fun though! Thanks again for the very welcome, constructive and positive feedback, and keep up the fine work yourself!
