One Too Many Virgos

Get Flash to see this player.

Since the early '80s some friends of mine and I, under the name Radio Free Chaos, have been recording what could arguably be referred to as "comedy" recordings -- skits, songs, improv bits, commercial parodies and satires, whathaveyou -- that I've been finally getting around to actually producing lately with the hope of making the polished, finished bits available to the general public. (I'm leaning towards a podcast myself.)

With that in mind -- this was written in the early '90s as just something I sang whenever one of the gazillion Virgos I would meet would out themselves as such. I'd had requests to record it in some form for decades now, and sometime during the early 2000s it was agreed that it should probably be a Radio Free Chaos track.

So here it is. When I first wrote it, I could easily count 20 Virgos in my immediate circle of friends and acquaintances. 25+ years later and that number is easily over 50. Because what else is there to do in January?

I'm doing everything except for some very brief Apple loops.

One too many
One too many verses? It's hard for me to say because I have never had the problem of being surrounded by too many Virgos so .. so .. so I don't know how many verses it takes to address the situation. You can always default to the adage "Too much should be enough."

That said, I think the fractured endings are what I find most interesting - maybe because it breaks up the established expectations.
