Lyrics
WALKIN'

I
He's been a walking-wounded poster boy for pain.
He took all his lumps but never saw the gain.
Evolutionary fairy tales,
knocked the wind out of his sails.
He ran a-ground on the reef
of mass deception.

II
Blind-sided once, but he won't get fooled again!
He's got a race to run, and he really wants to win.
Just like the tortoise beat the hare,
slow n' steady will get him there.
He's fueled by blessed illumination.
Sun's up,
it's a brand new day!
Coulda swore I heard him say:
“Next time you see me I'll be walkin'!”

Chorus:
He's found humanism's cure!
He no longer can endure,
the world and all its phony “Grails.”
No more a prisoner bound.
Once was lost but now he's found.
One small Stone took Goliath down!

Bridge:
He's being healed of sin's devastating blight.
He's turned from Woodstock to Fatima's holy light;
from cultural blindness to sheer clarity of sight.
Oh yeah!/Oh yeah!

III
It's a long hard road but he knows he's not alone.
Got a cloud of friends to guide him to his home.
The blessed Virgin takes his hand.
She'll light a path through this no man's land;
till he attains his destination.
Son's up,
it's a brand new day!
Could-a swore I heard him say:
“Next time you see me I'll be walkin'!”

Chorus:
He's found materialism's cure!
He no longer can endure,
this world with all its phony “Grails.”
No more a prisoner bound.
Once was lost but now he's found.
One small Stone took Goliath down!

Bridge:
His feet were fast-bound for so very, very long.
Set free he's treadin' now on holy ground.
The lies all past, he's singing Heavens' sweet sweet song....
Oh yeah!/Oh yeah!
Next time you see him he'll be walkin'!

Walk on!

Cracking work Mike
Love the changes in texture and there's some fine playing and singing.

Lyrics sound interesting but I can't pick them out just yet.

Rocking in the free world!

Cheers

Dick

Wind Out of His Sails
Won't get fooled again meme, this is just a fab tune. Thanks to you for posting here at MJ. Mike ya have the set the bar high. Folks better get to work on their posts to keep up with you... I have a theory that yer work just intimidates the crap out our good friends, makes um sound like FM zombies repeating formula, so they fails to post. They are punked.

Only trying to raise
the bar for myself Daug. We should all be ever trying to improve our songwriting and recording skills. It's either progress or regress. I've got something to say and I'd like to say it the very best I can. Actually, my work tends to make me cringe a bit. I think that fact continues to motivate me to try harder.

Thanks for your continued support and encouragement my friend!

Cool beans..
Managed to break back into my account ...Glad I did. The staccato chops over the organ work is brilliant. Had me rocking out in my squeaky chair...brilliant. Reminds me somewhat of the style of Mike and the Mechanics...and to me that's a very good thing.

3744: Good call!
Yeah Graham, I came up with this riffage a few months ago after listening to HOGWASH. (Thanks again for turning me on to them!) I wanted to try doing something in a similar style. This is great fun to play on the guitar!

Glad you dig it!

Very nice,...
Love the octave back up riff, has a lot of bite. Love the riffs that flow from it. Really nice sound. Really enjoyed. Great singing, too.

Thank you Ean!
The "voice" of the guitar is an "Fifties RnB" setting in Logic Pro that I recently discovered. It has a surprising amount of "bite." Who knew? I'll be using that voice again in future recordings.

Thanks for weighing in my friend!
