Description
This is a song by my band, Fleechment. It is the title track of our EP "Signposts- Going South", which was recorded back in March 2018. The song is recorded in Laidback Studios in Oslo. This time, recording in a studio was a great experience!

You can check out the EP on Spotify and all the other streaming services: https://open.spotify.com/album/43eSWqsUcQrvtMy1j8OEQV

Lyrics
Going south

You wanted something new
But had nothing to lose
All the times you tried to change it all,
a new thing comes to life
but nothings thrown aside
It clutters up and empties all the space

Then everything goes south
And you cannot go without
Something, which is real
But you can't tell them how you feel

Then everything comes back
And you find that you are in lack
Are you present in your life
Or divided up by time

They always try to show
What's bonny and what's not
You can't seem to grasp essential lines
Will new things come to life?
Will you be thrown aside?
When you just seem to climb inside a wall

Then everything goes south
And you cannot go without
Something, which is real
But you can't tell them how you feel

Then everything comes back
And you find that you are in lack
Are you present in your life
Or divided up by time

This is my envy face...
It's great to hear your voice again, Magnus. I continue to enjoy the combination of your singing voice and your songwriting sensibility. I see three people, but I hear more instruments than that...Ah, the magic of multitrack....

You did a nice job on the lyrics and melody. The kick into the chorus is nice. I like that chimey keyboard sound. The mix sounds really solid on my monitors, with everything nicely balanced and instruments highlighted as needed.

It's great hearing you again...

Going South
I like the song Magnus, and the performances and recording/production work really well too. I'm especially enjoying your vocal.
A very good post.

I hear You Magnus
A maturity in your voice now. Sounds like you have hit a few of those pitfalls that come along as you try to slide through life. Very well done singing and production. As professional as you could want. "I have heard a man's pain. I have seen him go half insane and it sounds just like the Midnight Train."

Love the harmonies!
Just my own taste, but I think I'd nudge the bass up just a little. Seems like it gets lost in the mix, but that's just me. Great stuff!
