Lyrics
FRIENDSHIP VOLUME 2
WORDS MUSIC Franciscus Henri (BMG)
Long shadows on the ground,
The world is turning, the sun going down.
You lay down your guitar without a reason
it’s raining now,
The weathers out of season
Thought I’d Find you in this song.
All I found was silence.
Thought perhaps you’d play along.
Those days are behind us.
Played Arlo Guthrie on my own,
Sang “Come on children, all come home”
sometimes I get the words all wrong
That goes without saying
Thought I’d Find you in this song.
Thought perhaps you’d play along.
Always knew what song to play
No trouble deciding.
Thought my world was built on song,
now I feel it sliding
Thought I’d Find you in this song.
All I found was silence.
Thought perhaps you’d play along.
Those days are behind us.
Friendship like bread
Once broken yet
I’ve broken mine

It
still hasn't settled all the in that Phil is no longer here. I miss him, not for the comments he would make, but for just "being there." I genuinely enjoyed this, even if it struck sort of a sad note.

I thought I'd find you in this song...
A moving tribute, Franciscus. The gentle yearning of the vocal and the understated arrangement work perfectly. It made me just sit here and reflect. As I do often these days. I'm sure you do, as well. Great photo. Take care.

A touching tribute ... but, more than that ...
It captures the moment that you also captured in that picture.

A very interesting and thought-provoking arrangement – and, lyric.

Requiescat In Pace ...

Wherever he is now, I’m sure he’s smiling ... and, tuning up.

Thanks so much
I tried to capture his absence in the arrangement by leaving out guitar solos where they would predictably be..

Connected
I relate with this song as I had a musical friend pass. There is a unique connection that is made when we get musical together, achiever entrainment and enjoy each other's company on the harmonic plane. Thanks for sharing.
