1982 (1982 Track 5 - 2019 RPM Challenge)

Description
This is the fifth track, and the title track, from my 2019 RPM challenge submission. I decided to do an early 80s synth pop homage for this year's challenge, which was a lot of fun to put together. I even had fun making the artwork for the project. The idea was, it's 1982 and you're in your favorite mall browsing Camelot Music or Sam Goody and there it is in all it's XDR cassette goodness.

While it's all synth (no guitars), I did jump around a little stylistically and maybe borrowed some sounds and styles from a little later than 1982. But, I've reached the point in my life where the music of my youth has all blurred together, so it's at least authentic to my hazy memories.

As for the title of the project, 1982 was a big year for me. I turned 15, was a freshman in high school and got my driver's license. All big deals when you're growing up.

This is the obligatory "filler" track from the days before CDs when it seems every album needed "three more minutes of music" to balance out Side A and Side B. It's an instrumental and was intended to be more elaborate, but I decided to run with the filler track idea mainly because I was running out of time and needed something really quick.
