Description
Wonder where the future went yet? Too bad you are stuck in time. This one was written about the same time as Number Station. The administrator of #317 makes an appearance. Big Sister loves you.

Hello KC
The synth is working hard carrying the melody lines basically because I could no sing what I had written. Except for the middle eight that is a duet with guitar.
I use a subtractive eq to do the characters. There are pitch plug ins that can do interesting things. "Big Sister" here was done with a plug in called Little Alter Boy, I think it was $14.95 years ago.

Yes... a few replays and I might understand it all ;-) Lot's of textures to enjoy herein. I'm gonna have to listen with headphones to get all the way "in". That guitar is jamming on the back half of the tune. Nicely played.

Just when the times seem as nutty as they can be there's a new twist thrown on top! Thanks for posting... wish I coulda downloaded.

Storyline
Pap you been hanging around the house for a long time! Thank you for your support.
This is linear to the number station pieces. I am unable to finish them, for some reason I no longer hear them as well. Sadly, I was trying really hard to keep things as simple as possible. Is what it is.

Hello G
Something happened. I am attempting to explain what it was and suggest what it means. Hate is a reward in the culture of despair. "Oh well," said Peter Green. I try to reconcile the whole of it...

Another excursion
to the limits of sanity.

As papag said, I need a few listens on headphones as well.

Incredibly dense but still a lot of clarity in the sounds.

Wow!

Cheers

Hello Dick
Too much truth? Too much stuff? Naw, as I said above I am really trying to keep things simple. Not releasing the dense stuff... that stuff stays in the hard drive under a dry ice cooler, can't risk any fires in the Daug House, I have to protect my record collection.
Thank you for your comments. I have appreciated the exchanges over the years.

Hello Charlie
Thanks for the listens and comment. I am work hard to make things that demand multiple listens, I am most happy to have inspired you to get your theory together. Got to have theory and practice!
I will offer you an example. The slide guitar solo on this track seems to float along on the changes effortlessly. If you listen closely to the chords you will can hear them as diminished seventh chords. All of them. The solo works because the bass line is holding the tonic while the chords float by... That is a textural device. In order to get that unusual thing going ya have to have specific information and a strong desire to make the thing in the first place.
A solo over all diminished seventh chords? How weird? I did not even think about making the changes, I just felt the thing and made one pass and done... But I have been playing music for forty seven years, in bands and in the studio, and I play several hours a day 'cos I dig it like breathing to this day... I ought to be able to feel my way through weird stuff, and be free enough to think up challenging material to solo over lol! Best of luck.

Been here since the place opened. I hope you enjoy yourself here at MJ. In fall 2009, I erased the 60+ tunes I had posted since day one. MJ had changed, becoming hateful and repressive, and I needed to respond appropriately. What happe... [see more]
