Description
Made a lot of keyboard based songs. Thought it was time for a rougher and simpler guitar thing.

Lyrics
Travelin' light

Here am i walking in the free world
a bag in my hand and you on my mind
Please excuse my untimely absense
while i rewind, I'm no longer blind

Everything is broken, nothing is right
Not much to pack so i'm travelin' light

Brought some pictures with me in my head
Pictures of now, and pictures of then
There are sad songs and some dead flowers too
But mostly there are colourful pictures of you

Left Joanne swinging, left dad a blue note
Brother Len and his joint happy as can be
Walked out with my sixty dollar paycheck
No more working grave yard for me

Everything is broken, nothing is right
Not much to pack so i'm travellin' light

There's a lot of pain even in the free world
but i'm gonna choose how and when i get hurt
Gonna live by the sun and drink by the wim
Eat by the sea and piss in the dirt

Everything is broken, nothing is right
Not much to pack so i'm travellin' light

Raw nerve endings
Voice is a little hot but is wonderfully rugged. Just listen
to those lyrics. You are hurting, man. Sing it! Righteous
guitar work. 8-7-8-8

Thanks! Had my 3 year old following me around the house. I took my powerbook to one room and managed one verse, then she was there screaming "Daddy, help me with my Lego!" So i'd run to the next room managing another verse. And so on. Thanks for the guitar comment too, i'm not really a guitarist. Just try to borrow one when i need it. But i got a friend that works for Fender, so i'm hoping for an offer i can't refuse, one day.

Thanks again for the input,
/Al

mike patton risen from the grave
your voice reminded me of mike patton risen from the grave,
except that he's not dead yet. hmmm. well, if he was dead,
he'd be risen from the grave now. nice work!

Another great song
Really good sound you're getting here ... lovely
guitars. And a well written song too. I like the vocals
very much. Your stuff is really original - I don't know
of anyone else doing songs quite like this ... and that
IS meant to be a compliment, by the way!

Another great song
Thanks! I've always been a metal head, playing the drums, beating hard... But
i've always been listening to all kinds of music, classical, jazz, 50's rock,
glam, punk you name it. So when i tried this writing-your-own-music stuff a
few months ago, i really had a hard time deciding what to do.

So instead of adopting this or that genre, i'm just playing around and try to
keep an open mind to what might sound good.

I used to play the piano when i was a kid but never learnt notes, and i also
learnt the basic guitar chords but that's it. I never sang before either (except
the old shower-thing). So i find this Garageband thing tremendously
rewarding. This is the reason for the rough and unpolished finish of the
songs.

Being around this crowd of truly brilliant musicians can be rather intimidating
but everyone has been exceptionally kind to me. I'm doing my best and i
know i have problems with false notes and keeping the beat up, but hopefully
that will sort itself out in the future.

And of course, inputs like yours really makes me want to go on.
My having a personal style is a compliment indeed.

Thanks again,

/Al

Great song....
... a great scene depicted. And it's got a really nice feel to
it. Lots of elements that work together really well.

Great song....
Thanks! I tried to make it a kind of a crossroads, lonely experience. A discontented man finally following his heart and his girlfriend.
Thaks for listenking!'
